Selling More than 1,000 User Licenses to a Buyer

When setting the fee for a course that you’re selling, you have the option to offer discount / volume pricing for organizations that have up to 1,000 users, up to 10,000 users, or 10,001+.

  • Corporate buyers that have a direct agreement with Dual Code (e.g. have subscribed to Dual Code’s “Standard” or “Workplace” services) can buy a license for everyone in their organization and benefit from the volume discounts regardless of how small or large they are.

  • Individual buyers purchasing licenses for everyone in their organization via My Dual Code however can only purchase licenses for up to 1,000 users. If they need more than 1,000 user licenses, they will need to buy multiple bundles of the same course.

There are numerous reasons for this cap, which is intentional:

Practicality. When an organization has more than 1,000 users enrolling in a single course, they generally want tools and reports above and beyond those generally offered on My Dual Code. This means that this organization is likely to contact you directly and ask you for custom reports and detailed information on the usage of their license. This puts you in a position where you are either required to hire administrative staff to handle all of these requests, or simply say “NO!” to your client, which is not always a comfortable position to be in.

Predictability. When an organization has a learning environment powered by Dual Code, we know how many learners they have in their system. When they purchase a course, we can therefore offer them a volume discount that matches the number of users they have. We cannot do that when an individual buys a course on My Dual Code because they are making a purchase using their personal account and not an account tied to one of our corporate systems.

Security. With the amount of fraud on the Internet, it’s not hard to imagine an unverified organization purchasing an unlimited license for a course (e.g. for “10,001 or more” users) and then reselling these licenses at a mark up. When an organization subscribes to one Dual Code’s corporate offerings (e.g. HCE Workplace or HCE Standard), they enter into a direct contract with Dual Code, at which point we do our due diligence. This reduces the amount of fraud and in turn, protects you.
