Printing an Attendance Sheet (with a QR Code)

The Face-to-face plugin makes it easy for an Instructor to take attendance in a classroom with the use of a computer or tablet. That being said, some Instructors prefer to bring a sheet of paper and have the learners initialize / sign it, or even scan a QR code to sign in. To simplify this task, the Face-to-face activity allows an Instructor to output a printer-friendly attendance sheet in PDF format that can be printed ahead of time and brought the classroom. The attendance sheet includes details about the session, as well as the list of attendees who have registered for the session. The sheet also has room next to each attendee for users to initialize or sign their name, and for the instructor to write notes about each user (i.e. showed up late, left early, etc.). Finally, the sheet has separate pages with a QR code (quick-response code) that allows users to sign in using their mobile device.

Step-by-step Guide

To print the attendance sheet:

  1. Go to the Face-to-face activity in question
  2. Click on the "Attendees" link next to the session in question (in the "Options" column)
  3. Click on the "Print list and self-attestation QR code" link at the bottom of the page
