Modifying the Dashboard
System Administrators can modify the dashboard to their liking. Once modified, they can reset it for all users in the system.
Step-by-step Guide
To modify the default dashboard and reset it for all users:
- Go to Site Administration > Appearance > Default Dashboard Page
- Click on the "Blocks editing on" button near the top right of the screen
- Modify the dashboard. This includes adding, removing or simply moving blocks around
- See the first "Important Notes" section below to learn about our recommendations.
- Click on the "Reset Dashboard for all users" button to ensure everyone in the system will see the dashboard you just implemented
Important Notes
- Dual Code's recommendation is that organizations who make user of programs display the "Compliance Overview" block at the top followed by the "Course Overview" block immediately below it. Organizations who do not use programs (usually organizations who only offer optional courses) should only display the "Course Overview" block.
- While you have a lot of flexibility when it comes to modifying the dashboard, keep in mind that Dual Code has done usability studies across a number of healthcare organizations, including large and small hospitals. Our recommendation is based on these studies.
- We have also published user guides for administrators, supervisors, learners, and other roles in the system. By removing blocks from the dashboard, your users may have a hard time following the user guides and/or training that we provide them.
