When learners complete all of the courses included in a program, the system automatically generates a learning record for the program as a whole. This learning record serves as the official confirmation that the learner has successfully completed the full training track.
A program-level learning record differs from individual course completions in that it represents mastery of the entire structured pathway rather than just one component. For Epic training, this distinction is critical:
-
Individual course completions confirm that learners finished specific requirements such as SCORM videos, instructor-led classes, or EUPAs.
-
The program learning record confirms that learners have successfully completed all required elements of the training sequence in the intended order.
This record provides:
-
Accountability – proof that the learner followed the prescribed training track
-
Consistency – assurance that all mandatory elements (self-paced, classroom, and EUPA) were completed
-
Tracking – visibility for supervisors, team leaders, and administrators when validating compliance or generating reports
In practice, this means that a learner may have multiple course-level records, but only once every required course within the program is complete will they earn the program learning record, which acts as the ultimate certification of Epic training completion.
