Copying the Theme

For those who prefer to design the theme on their staging environment prior to applying it to their production environment, you can "export" the theme, and then "import" it.

Step-by-step Guide

The sections below explains how to both export and import the theme settings/

Step #1: To export your theme:

  1. Go to Site Administration > Appearance > Custom theme settings > HCE Theme > Import / export settings

  2. Select one of the three export options:

    1. Export properties without files. After exporting, copy the JSON from the screen and paste it into the 'putprops' setting (after clearing it) on the destination installation and click on 'Save changes'. A report will then be generated and put in the 'putprops' setting. It will list any file settings that need their files manually transferred.

    2. Export properties with files. After exporting, copy the JSON from the screen and paste it into the 'putprops' setting (after clearing it) on the destination installation and click on 'Save changes'. A report will then be generated and put in the 'putprops' setting.

    3. Export properties with files. After exporting, download the generated JSON file with today's date and time from the 'propertyfiles' setting and upload it into the 'fileputprops' setting on the destination installation and click on 'Save changes'. A report will then be generated and put in the 'putprops' setting.

  3. Download or copy the information

    1. If you select options A or B above, you’ll need to select the JSON text and copy it.

    2. If you select option C above, you can simply download a file
