Controlling Certification Expiry Dates and Recertification

The expiry date shown on a certificate of completion is determined by the organization that offers the course. If the course provider has specified an expiry period (e.g., valid for 1 year, 2 years, etc.), that expiry will appear directly on the certificate when it is generated.

For institutions using Dual Code Workplace, there are additional tools available to manage internal recertification requirements. These institutions can:

  • Control when staff must retake a course, regardless of the expiry shown on the certificate

  • Define recertification windows based on organizational policies or compliance requirements

  • Automatically send reminders to learners when it’s time to renew their certification

These features provide greater flexibility for organizations to align course tracking and compliance with their internal standards and timelines.

Please note that these recertification features are not available on My Dual Code. Organizations using My Dual Code must rely on the expiry set by the course provider and cannot override or customize recertification schedules at the organizational level.
