Reopening an Appraisal

Once a supervisor saves and submits an appraisal for an employee, it is marked as “Completed.” However, the appraisal can be reopened if needed, allowing either the employee or the supervisor to make changes to their responses.

Step-by-step Guide

To reopen an appraisal:

  1. Go to Performance Appraisal System > Manage appraisals

  2. Click on the “Feedback” icon next to the appraisal in question

  3. Click on the “Reopen” icon next to the user in question

    1. If you would like the employee to modify their responses, you can click on the “Reopen” icon next to their name. Once they modify their responses, the Supervisor will have the opportunity to modify their responses as well.

    2. If you would only like a Supervisor to modify their responses, you can click on the “Reopen” icon next to their name. In this case, the employee will not be able to revise their responses.

  4. Confirm your selection in the modal window.

Important Notes

  • You can only reopen an appraisal if it hasn’t been locked

  • When an appraisal is reopened, the relevant user—the one permitted to update their responses—will be notified.

  • If there are multiple supervisors assigned to the appraisal, reopening it will notify all supervisors.
